MB Folder for Clinical Print Finishers

Clinical Print Finishers of Leicester have purchased their first MB folder, which was installed by Encore Machinery. The company specialises in miniature folding for the pharmaceutical, lifestyle, fashion, cosmetics and consumer electronics industries

"The MB CAS38 complements our H&H folders in a niche area in miniature folding where we were finding it difficult to fold thicker grammages," explained Alvin Brown, Managing Director. "I'd seen the MB at several shows and thought that the computerised setting would be very useful."

Mr Brown took one of his operators to Encore's showroom in Dunstable. "We decided to put the MB to the test and brought with us three or four of our most awkward jobs, " he pointed out. "Mike Biggs, Encore's Managing Director, put them on the MB, set the rollers and plates automatically via the display screen and within ten minutes they were completed. It was very impressive."

The MB CAS38 has 40mm diameter rollers as opposed to 25mm on the H& H machines, making it easier for thicker paper to bend around the circumference. It also has larger plates, which also makes it easier to fold a large sheet into quite a small leaflet. Clinical purchased the MB with a gatefold attachment and a preloader.

"Everybody is delighted with the machine and the professional way that Encore handled the installation," Mr. Brown commented. "The operators love it because of the built-in computer settings, which makes it quick and easy to set up new jobs. They can also store the settings in the memory for repeat jobs.

"Because of our type of work, which is highly specialised miniature folding, I travel the globe constantly looking at the latest technology. I am pleased to say that the MB CAS 38 is one of the best value for money that I have seen."
