get their money back with MB
Collecting unpaid Council Tax, non-domestic rates and parking tickets is big business, which is why Equita Limited, a firm of bailiffs, have installed an MB CAS 38 folder with pre-loader from Encore Print Machinery. Equita prints and distributes collection letters for over one hundred Councils nationwide. They replaced their individual laser printers with a Xeikon 7000 digital press with on-line BOWE cutter, as their existing folder could not keep up with the volume and speed of the digital press. "All
we wanted was a machine that a number of staff could use to fold A4 letters
for insertion into DL envelopes," said Michael Brient, IT Manager.
" It had to be fast and as easy to operate as a photocopier because
we didn't want to employ finishing specialists. That's where the MB scores
because it is computer controlled, making it very quick and easy to set
up. We don't have to worry about setting up the rollers and the fold plates
as these are done automatically through a simple touch screen. Once set,
the folding is accurate and reliable. The biggest saving, without doubt,
has been in time. It was taking two people eight hours a day to print
and finish the letters and now one person can do them in three hours,
giving us a lot of spare capacity to grow the business."
