Tawny Press in Witham has installed a Shoei SPK74/4KTTL B1 folder from Encore Machinery to meet the finishing demands of a five colour Komori Lithrone 40.

"The Komori with the Shoei should more than double our productivity, which will make a big difference as we had no more capacity," said Gary Cheverall, Managing Director.

It is the second Shoei for this family run commercial colour printer. "Three years ago we bought a B2 Shoei which has been brilliant, so we went back to Shoei when we decided to buy a B1 press. We were able to buy a brand new B1 Shoei, at a very cost effective price, which will suit us much better."

The folder has been configured with two cross folds and two pocket folds. "We have four very busy folding periods a year when the machine will come into its own. It will mostly be used to fold 16 page sections as well as other jobs."
